They are old piers built on land reclaimed from the river for transport and trade in the 19th century.
Throughout history, the transportation of goods has been carried out along the Miño River. During the 19th century, these piers were built to facilitate the import and export businesses that grew around the river. Also to provide services to other businesses such as shipyards and sawmills.
Miño River Estuary
Expert ornithologists highlight this natural space for the variety and quantity of birds that choose the Miño estuary to winter.
Bird observatories
Years ago, bird observatories were installed in the estuary to facilitate the observation of birds such as sea crows or gray herons.
Jesuit order school
This building on the bank of the Miño marked the history of A Guarda more than 150 years ago thanks to the advances of its teachers.
