Marine storms

The coast stands out for the bravery of the storms that marked generations of sailors and their families. It is common for the waves to exceed the dikes.
The rocky coast of A Guarda forms an unusual model of the Galician coast because it is straight, with few elevations and no cliffs. The routes that run along this coast allow you to get to know the physiognomy of the coast and in winter to contemplate the bravery of the sea.The natural characteristics of seawater and strong waves facilitate the appearance of an outstanding phenomenon such as sea foam. This phenomenon occurs mainly on the maritime beaches of Area Grande, Fedorento and O Carreiro, including the south of the port. Sometimes they are so strong that they reach the boardwalks.
