Historic center route

As for its architecture, the main façade is baroque with white murals of Portuguese influence and the south façade is in the Renaissance style. The lateral tower with a rectangular plan topped by a dome was built in the 19th century. Inside, the main chapel altarpiece stands out in Borrominesco style from the 18th century and is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Of great interest are the images of Christ: the Recumbent Christ, the work of local sculptor Cándido Sobrino. In the altarpiece of the Altar of the Souls there is the Crucified Christ, according to tradition it is an image recovered from the sea and that was thrown away by the English Catholics in the time of Henry VIII.

Bajo Muro (medieval wall) Street
Old street where a section of the wall and the beginning of the access gate from the port are preserved.
