In this shed, women continue with an essential profession for fishing, such as making and repairing nets.
For generations, women were responsible for making and repairing fishing nets so that men could go fishing. This work was barely recognized and in 2005 a group of women from A Guarda got together and managed to build the shed where they could work and improve their conditions. Currently, these women, apart from making and repairing fishing nets, they also make Galician crafts with marine elements. They also attend fairs and collaborate with entities and companies making their trade known.
South dock and fish market
A Guarda still preserves inshore fishing and on the southern dock or pier you can find the fish market, the boats and the sailors in their daily lives.
